POSITION: Solo Pastor

Description:

Tasks, expectations, duties, supervision, assignments, and responsibilities for the position

Worship Leadership:

  • Plan and lead weekly worship services in-person and to be broadcast to the online community

  • Plan and lead special worship services; e.g., Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Lenten Services, etc.

  • Lead communion

  • Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms (including meeting with families in preparation prior)

Pastoral Care:

  • Visit the hospitalized, ill, isolated, and shut-in, in conjunction with the congregation

  • Provide pastoral care and counseling to those who seek it

Membership Education and Development:

  • Facilitate adult education classes/Bible studies and confirmation classes

  • Meet with prospective new members and provide new member education

  • Welcome all members of the congregation and visitors

  • Communicate regularly with the congregation

Administrative:

  • Moderate Session

  • Provide annual training of Elders and Deacons

  • Assist and encourage the various committees within the congregation

  • Maintain regular office hours at church

  • Collaborate with staff in preparing weekly communications

Maintain Own Spiritual, Physical, and Mental Health

  • Participate in retreats and/or seminars, etc. that will rejuvenate and inspire their well-being.
