POSITION: Associate Executive Presbyter Administrative Assistant
Description:
The Associate Executive Presbyter Administrative Assistant (AA) provides support for the Associate Presbyter (AP) and the committees and projects they manage. The AA supports the AE by managing correspondence, preparing vouchers for payment and/or reimbursement, preparing meeting space, both physical and online, and meeting documents, and storing electronic documents.
Provide administrative support for Associate Executive Presbyter including Mission, CARE, and Mental Health committees, and work with Community Partners. AEP will determine the schedule.
Support communication and correspondence with leaders, congregations, sessions, councils, and organizations in the Chicago Metro area.
Participates in staff, and other assigned meetings.
Prepare documents for online and in-person meetings, including copying, providing links to documents, and Zoom access. Including weekend meetings.
Prepare meeting room including hardware set-up for online access, any required documents, directions, or meals. Communicate arrangements to appropriate individuals.
Maintain electronic databases of meeting agendas and minutes (as assigned by AEP) in Google Drive, cloud, and In-C.
Prepare correspondence, reports, manuals, and other documents for committees.
Prepare vouchers for vendor payments and/or reimbursements.
Perform other clerical and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Ordained minister with a minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited college/university and demonstrated experience in pastoral ministry and church leadership.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships within the congregation and community.
Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development in theology, pastoral care, and leadership.
Alignment with the doctrinal beliefs and practices of Nineteenth Street Baptist Church.
Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire staff and volunteers towards achieving common goals.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred
High level communication skills required. Excellent overall computer skills, including Mail Chimp, Microsoft Office products and Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite.
Experience in a faith-based or non-profit environment is preferred.
Knowledge of Presbyterian polity, practices, and procedural operations preferred.
The ability to function well within a complex, multi-cultural metropolitan environment.
Ability to make decisions and work independently.
Ability to work remotely if needed.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Clearly defined professional boundaries and an ability to balance the multiple aspects of one’s life.
